He has been performing since he was six years old. His musical roots and journey began in the church with "Jamaican Gospel", later on swinging into "Calypso", then finally grounding himself into the "Jamaican Rootz-Reggae scene."

He's had the loving support of his large family and much encouragement from his many friends and teachers like "Ms Christie" since childhood to now. Ms Christie taught journalist how to find and use his singing power.

The young Journalist began his journey, as we mentioned in his hometown church in Jamaica , as well as in his schools, the York Town primary, and in the Clarendon College of Jamaica. He took flight at age 16, when he won at the Clarendon Parish Festival, of which he won on numerous occasions backed by the band "Endless Vibes." Journalist also performed at the "Milk River Bath" and "The Prime Minister Benefit Concert. He was a regular singer for the Jamaican Tourist Board all over Jamaica .

Journalist also sang Harmony with artists such as Donnie Hilberts, BONGO-GENE, MICHAEL LINDO, BROTHER "D" and SINGER MAN, as well as performing with many TOP REGGAE BANDS such as "THE BLACK ARROW BAND", EARTH-VIBRATIONS" and "THE ENDLESS VIBES." After migrating to Boston , Massachusetts in 1987, JOURNAL-1ST gained momentum in various local Boston-based bands such as: Lead singer for "AMBASSA," and "DUB STA-TION."

JOURNALIST has had the great opportunity for opening on stage with many other great reggae stars including THE WAILERS, SUGAR MINTO, THE MEDITATIONS, ASWAD, LUCKY, DUBE, JIMMY CLIFF, and CULTURE. JOURNALIST says he has been highly influenced by artists such as BOB MARLEY, JACOB MILLER, LEE PERRY, and PETER TOSH, just to name a few. JOURNALIST BANDOO lives, breathes and talks about PASSAGE in the GOOD BOOK, that says: "KEEP TO THE PATH OF RIGHTIOUSNESS...NOT THE PATH OF THE WICKED!"
